  • 36 months
  • Training – combination of face to face and online and on the job training under the direction of a workplace supervisor
  • Assessment – theory assessment and practical observations conducted on site or in simulated environments
  • Eligible students funded under the CSQ Skills & Gap Training Courses Program must have all assessment completed and submitted by the 30th of September 2024

According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, the demand for painting trades workers is on the rise, with approximately 19,000 job openings expected over the next five years. Employers seek reliable, hardworking individuals who thrive in a team setting.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain hands-on experience in preparing surfaces and applying paint, wallpaper, and other coatings to enhance and protect both interiors and exteriors. You’ll learn essential skills, including the safe use of tools and equipment, color matching, and scaffolding techniques for elevated work.

By successfully completing this qualification, you’ll be eligible to apply for certification as a qualified painter and decorator, paving the way for further career advancement in the industry.
